Bing & Grøndahl squirrel figurine 2177 - Svend Jespersen

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2177 depicts a squirrel in a lively and charming pose with its tail raised high and a small nut between its front paws. The figurine is designed by Svend Jespersen and has the naturalistic expression that many collectors and design enthusiasts appreciate in classic animal figurines from Bing & Grøndahl. The warm brown glaze and the soft shapes give the figurine a calm, decorative expression that fits beautifully in both a display cabinet, bookcase and on a small shelf with Danish porcelain.

It is a porcelain figurine that combines simplicity with character. The squirrel's upright ears, rounded body and curved tail give the figurine a fine interplay between lifelike motif and stylized form. The underglaze technique contributes to the smooth, deep expression of the surface and emphasizes the good quality for which Bing & Grøndahl is known. For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines and for anyone who appreciates Danish animal figurines in porcelain, model 2177 is an obvious choice.

The figurine is easy to place in the décor and works both on its own and together with other porcelain figurines, animal figurines or ceramics in Nordic shades. It is also an obvious gift idea for collectors, nature lovers or for anyone who appreciates classic Danish design with personality. A squirrel like this adds a small touch of nature, history and fine craftsmanship to the home.
