Bing & Grøndahl cat figurine 2256 sitting cat - Svend Jespersen

Bing & Grøndahl cat figurine no. 2256 is a porcelain figurine with a calm and lively cat motif, where the cat sits upright and is captured in the middle of its grooming. The expression is classic Danish figurine art: simple, confidently modelled and with great understanding of the animal's movement and character. The figurine is well suited to searches such as Bing & Grøndahl cat, porcelain cat and cat figurine from Denmark.

Svend Jespersen has given the figurine a fine balance between the stylised and the natural. In the pictures, the cat is seen with a slender body, long tail around the body and the head bent slightly down towards the chest, which emphasises the intimate moment. The glaze appears glossy and soft in expression, with light nuances in greyish and white tones, which suit the motif beautifully and give the figurine a calm, harmonious presence. The technique is stated as underglaze, and that type of surface helps give the figurine its classic B&G character.

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine is an obvious choice for you if you collect cat figurines, Danish porcelain or older design with personality. It works beautifully on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection with other animal figurines. Older porcelain figurines like this one in particular have a special charm, because they combine good craftsmanship, durable quality and the joy of giving a piece of design history new life in the home.

The motif also makes the figurine suitable as a gift for the cat lover, the collector or the one who appreciates classic Scandinavian interior design. The calm posture and the soft lines make it easy to place, both in modern homes and in more traditional interiors, where porcelain figurines add warmth, history and personality.
