Bing & Grøndahl Man with grapes figure no. 4025 Kai Nielsen

Bing & Grøndahl figure no. 4025, "Man with grapes", is a characterful porcelain figure with a classic and sensual expression. The figure depicts a nude man in a lively, twisted pose, where the body works against a base shaped with grape clusters. The motif gives associations to harvest, fertility, and the ancient world's joy in nature, wine, and the forms of the human body. It is a figure that appears both sculptural and narrative, and that attracts attention in the interior.

The figure is made in Blanc de Chine, which emphasizes the motif's soft forms and the fine transitions in the modeling. The white porcelain surface gives a calm and pure expression, where the light is allowed to highlight the body's movement and the organic details around the grapes. This very technique suits Kai Nielsen's design language well and makes the figure suitable both as an art figure and as part of a collection of Danish porcelain art.

Kai Nielsen is known for figures with a strong plastic effect, and here his sure sense of anatomy, rhythm, and balance is seen. "Man with grapes" has a distinctive presence and is well suited to those who are fond of Bing & Grøndahl figures, Blanc de Chine porcelain, and older design with a sculptural character. The figure can stand alone on a shelf, on a chest of drawers, or in a display cabinet, where it adds depth and personality to the room.

As an older porcelain figure, it also contains the value that lies in preserving fine craftsmanship and allowing design with history to live on in a modern home. Vintage porcelain and collector figures like this are a sustainable choice for those who want quality, character, and timeless design language rather than new production. This also makes the figure ideal as a gift for collectors or for someone who appreciates Danish design and classic porcelain figures.
