Bing & Grøndahl boy kissing fish figurine no. 38 or 4038

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine of a boy kissing a fish has a motif with warmth, humor, and presence. The figurine shows a kneeling boy holding the fish close to himself in a calm and intimate movement. The simple formal language and the light Blanc de Chine finish give the motif a soft and poetic expression, where attention is gathered on the figure's posture and the close contact between child and animal.

Kai Nielsen has created a porcelain figurine that combines naturalism with a stylish and sculptural expression. The rounded shapes and the calm composition make the figurine pleasant to look at from several angles, and that is precisely what makes it suitable as both a collector's figurine and a decorative feature in the home. The motif of the boy and the fish adds personality and narrative to the interior and fits well among other classic porcelain figurines.

As a vintage porcelain figurine, it also contains the special value found in older quality design created to last. Choosing a figurine with history is at the same time a beautiful way to carry good craftsmanship forward and give existing craft art new life in a modern home. It can stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a chest of drawers, but can also be combined with other Bing & Grøndahl figurines of children, animals, or everyday motifs for a personal and cohesive expression.

This figurine appeals both to collectors of Kai Nielsen, to those who are fond of classic porcelain figurines, and to you who are looking for a gift with charm and character. The motif is unusual and memorable, and that is precisely why it is a figurine many will notice.
