Bing & Grøndahl annual figure 2010 Carl with trumpet

Bing & Grøndahl annual figure 2010 "Carl with trumpet" is a charming porcelain figure with music, movement and storytelling gathered in one motif. The figure shows the boy Carl in the middle of his trumpet playing, standing with slightly spread legs and the instrument raised, as if the tone has just been sent out into the room. At his side sits a small dog, following attentively and giving the figure extra life and warmth.

The expression is easily recognizable and full of personality. The light clothing, the blue vest, the yellow trumpet and the light hat create a fine color balance that suits Bing & Grøndahl's classic design language. The motif unites childlike joy of playing with the calm, craftsmanship quality that many collectors associate with Danish porcelain figures.

The figure is designed by Sven Vestergaard and belongs to the annual figure series "The little orchestra", which was begun in 2005. "Carl with trumpet" from 2010 is the last figure in the series, which makes it particularly interesting for collectors who wish to complete or expand their collection of Bing & Grøndahl annual figures. At the same time, it also works beautifully on its own as a decorative music figure with a lively and storytelling motif.

The underglaze execution emphasizes the figure's classic porcelain expression and makes it a fine example of modern Danish figurative art with roots in a strong tradition. For you who are fond of porcelain figures with children, music and storytelling, this is a figure with both collector's value and presence. It fits well in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as a personal gift for a collector or music lover.

As an older figure, it is also a good choice for you who appreciate design with history and quality that is created to last. Choosing vintage porcelain is a beautiful way to bring existing craftsmanship further into a contemporary home.
