Bing & Grøndahl Mother's Day figurine 1995 baby hedgehog no. 1916695

This Bing & Grøndahl Mother's Day figurine from 1995 depicts a baby hedgehog with a calm and present expression. The figurine is modeled sitting with the small front paws resting on a deep blue, round shape, which gives the motif a beautiful color contrast to the light shades of the body and the finely defined spines on the back. It is a porcelain figurine with a soft, friendly design language, which makes it decorative both for collectors and for you who appreciate classic animal figurines from B&G.

As part of the series of B&G Mother's Day figurines, this figurine has a special collector's interest. The animal on the Mother's Day figurine is the same animal seen on Bing & Grøndahl's Mother's Day plate from 1995, and for that very reason the figurine is ideal for collectors who are interested in both the Bing & Grøndahl Mother's Day figurine and the Bing & Grøndahl Mother's Day plate from the same year. It can stand alone as a small hedgehog figurine with character, but it is also a natural addition to an existing collection of B&G Mother's Day figurines.

The baby hedgehog is made in underglaze, which supports the classic Bing & Grøndahl tradition and gives the figurine a harmonious, glossy appearance. The fine details in the face, ears, and spines bring life to the motif, while the blue color gives the figurine a striking visual anchor. The combination of nature motif and well-known Danish porcelain makes it suitable as a gift for a collector, for a Mother's Day collection, or as a small figurine with history and personality in the home.

Older porcelain figurines like this carry a special charm. They are created to last, to be taken care of, and to bring joy onward through generations. Choosing a vintage B&G figurine is also a beautiful way to give classic Danish design new life in a modern interior.
