Johgus Bornholm ceramic dog figurine Pekingese 34 x 28 cm

Large ceramic dog figurine from Johgus Bornholm with a motif of a Pekingese, modelled with a calm and almost dignified expression. The figurine stands with an upright posture, short legs and the characteristic, full coat, which falls in long wavy sections along the body, chest and tail. This gives the dog figurine a distinctive and recognisable expression, which immediately brings to mind the classic companion dog with its special blend of pride and charm.

The glaze plays beautifully in warm shades of cream, beige, brown and darker areas, which emphasise the structure of the coat and create life in the surface. From the front, the large dark eyes, the short snout and the long hanging ears stand out clearly. By the head a bow detail can be seen, which adds a decorative and personal touch to the figurine. The large size makes this Pekingese figurine a natural eye-catcher, whether it is placed on a sideboard, in a bookcase or as part of a collection of animal figurines and Bornholm ceramics.

Johgus Bornholm is associated by many with Danish ceramics and figurines with character, and that is precisely why older dog figurines from here still have great appeal. When you choose vintage ceramics like this, you get not just a decorative figurine, but also a piece of applied art with history and soul. It is a sustainable way to furnish your home, where fine craftsmanship and durable materials are given new life in a modern home.

This large Pekingese dog figurine goes well with other ceramics, stoneware and applied art in warm natural tones, but it also works strongly on its own. It is ideal for the collector of Johgus Bornholm, for the dog lover or as a gift for someone who appreciates figurative ceramics with personality.
