Søholm foal figure in ceramic from Bornholm

This Søholm figure of a foal has a lively and charming expression that captures the slightly uncertain, curious movement one associates with a young foal. The figure stands with long legs, raised tail and bowed head, which gives it a lovely sense of movement and personality. The light glaze plays softly together with the darker details on mane, tail, ears and hooves and highlights the figure's form in a calm and natural way.

Søholm is known for ceramic design with roots on Bornholm, and this animal figure is a good example of how a simple form can contain lots of character. The foal's upright posture and slightly turned head give the figure life, so it works both as a decorative ceramic figure and as a small piece of Danish design history. It fits beautifully on a shelf, a chest of drawers or a desk, where it can stand alone or be combined with other animal figures and ceramics in Nordic style.

Older ceramic figures like this have a special ability to bring warmth, history and personality into the home. That is precisely part of the joy of vintage design and decorative art: choosing objects with soul, which can still be used and enjoyed for many years to come. For collectors of Søholm ceramics, for horse enthusiasts or as a gift for someone who loves Danish design, this figure is an atmospheric choice with both decorative value and nostalgic appeal.
