Dahl Jensen Brahma hen figurine no. 1021, 17 cm

Dahl Jensen Brahma hen figurine no. 1021 is a characterful porcelain figurine with a calm, lifelike expression. The figurine depicts a heavily built hen with full plumage, and it is precisely the heavy body shape and the distinctive feathered legs that give the motif its special presence. It is a bird figurine that appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain and to those who are fond of classic animal figurines with personality.

Jens Peter Dahl Jensen had a rare ability to bring his animal motifs to life, and this is clearly seen here. The hen stands upright and alert on a square base, modelled with fine transitions in the plumage and painted in soft shades of white, grey-brown and dark blue-grey. The markings of the neck, the tail and the sturdy feet create a lively interplay in the figurine, while the glossy glaze highlights form and details in a beautiful and classic way.

As a porcelain figurine, this Brahma hen fits beautifully in a collection with other bird figurines from Dahl Jensen, but it also stands strongly on its own in the interior. It looks good in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as a decorative detail on a desk or side table, where its sculptural form truly comes into its own. For many, older porcelain figurines are also a lovely way to bring craftsmanship, history and enduring qualities into the home again.

At the same time, it is an obvious gift idea for collectors of Dahl Jensen, for the porcelain enthusiast or for anyone who appreciates Danish design with a figurative expression. A figurine like this contains both narrative, craftsmanship and collector appeal, and it shows why classic animal figurines still have a natural place in modern interior design.
