Dahl Jensen ermine figurine no. 1121 on tree trunk

Dahl Jensen figurine no. 1121 depicts an ermine in motion on a tree trunk, modeled with an expression that gives the figurine both life and direction. The body is long and supple, the head is raised, and the tense posture makes the motif appear almost instantaneous - as if the animal has just stopped for a brief second. It is precisely this sense of anatomy and movement that makes classic animal figurines from Dahl Jensen so sought after among collectors of Danish porcelain.

The figurine is made of porcelain with a glossy glaze and appears in fine, subdued shades. The ermine appears predominantly white with soft gray tones, while the tree trunk is modeled in brownish and grayish colors with dark details at the ends. The contrast between the light animal and the rustic trunk gives the figurine character and makes it decorative from all angles. The motif fits beautifully into an interior with a focus on Danish design, porcelain figurines, and nature-inspired decorative art.

Jens Peter Dahl Jensen was known for his lifelike depictions of animals, and this figurine shows exactly the precision and calm that many associate with his work. An older porcelain figurine like this contains both history and lasting quality, and it is an obvious choice for those who would like to decorate with original objects with soul rather than new production. It works beautifully in the display cabinet, on a shelf, or as a gift for the collector who is fond of Dahl Jensen figurines and classic Danish porcelain.
