Dahl Jensen figurine no. 1144 Havdrup girl in national costume

Dahl Jensen figurine no. 1144 depicts a Havdrup girl in national costume, designed with the calm and presence that make classic porcelain figurines so sought after. The figurine shows a young girl standing with a small puppy in her arms, and it is precisely the combination of folk costume and the warm, everyday motif that gives the figurine both character and charm.

The traditional costume is rendered with great attention to the visible details. The girl wears a dark bonnet with a long ribbon, a green skirt section at the back, a blue apron with a geometric pattern, and a light shoulder piece with floral decoration. The small dog in her arms adds a gentle and vivid narrative to the motif, making the figurine interesting both for collectors of Dahl Jensen figurines and for those who appreciate Danish cultural history, national costumes, and figurines with animals.

The artist Jens Peter Dahl Jensen is known for his figurines with human warmth and assured proportions, and this model is a fine example of exactly that. Here, craftsmanship, storytelling, and tradition come together in a figurine that fits beautifully in a collection of porcelain figurines, among other folk costume figurines, or as a standalone eye-catcher in a display cabinet, on a shelf, or on a chest of drawers.

Older figurines like this have a special value because they bring history and personality into the interior. Choosing a figurine with age and soul is also a way to appreciate fine craftsmanship and give classic design new life in a modern home. The motif of the girl and the puppy also makes the figurine ideal as a gift for collectors or for anyone who loves dogs, Danish design, and decorative figurines with a story.
