Dahl Jensen Inuit Greenlandic boy no. 1358 figurine

This porcelain figurine from Dahl Jensen depicts a kneeling Inuit Greenlandic boy with a calm and present expression. The figurine is modelled in a low, forward-leaning posture, where the hands rest on the knees, and precisely that position gives the motif life and human warmth. The short hairstyle, the light upper garment with hood, the patterned belt and the fur-like details in the costume create a characterful figurine with a clear reference to Greenlandic national costume and the Arctic living environment.

Jens Peter Dahl Jensen is known for his naturalistic figurines, and here his sure eye for movement, costume and personality is seen. The face is modelled with fine features, while the glossy glaze highlights folds, hair and the surfaces of the clothing. The warm brown shades, the white upper garment and the discreet decorations at the knees give the figurine a harmonious play of colours, which makes it decorative from all angles.

As a Dahl Jensen figurine, this model appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain and to those of you seeking a figurine with a cultural-historical motif and a strong narrative. The kneeling Greenlandic boy fits beautifully in a collection of human figurines, figurines in national costumes or classic Danish porcelain art. At the same time, it is a fine choice in home décor, where older quality figurines add soul, history and personality to the home.

Vintage porcelain figurines like this are also a sustainable choice. When beautiful craftsmanship is given new life in a modern home, both material quality and narrative are carried on through generations. The figurine can stand alone in a display cabinet, on a shelf or be included together with other porcelain figurines from the same period and create a lively, personal expression.
