Royal Copenhagen Girl with Deer no. 1531 figurine signed 1972

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 1531 depicts a girl and a deer in a calm, intimate encounter, where the motif is shaped with a fine balance between simplicity and storytelling. The slender girl figure stands with a slightly bowed head and embraces the deer closely to her, which gives the figurine a quiet and almost poetic expression. The white porcelain figurine has a clean and calm appearance, where the form and the soft lines are allowed to carry the entire motif.

It is a human figure with a distinct natural mood, and it is precisely the interplay between child and animal that makes it attractive to collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and classic porcelain figurines. On the dress, discreet relief details can be seen along the lower edge, and both the girl's head covering and the deer's body are modeled with a gentle, handcrafted character. The expression is simple, but rich in presence.

The figurine is made by Royal Copenhagen and identified with the artist name Georg Thylstrup. The current text also states porcelain figurine in underglaze, which fits naturally with the classic tradition of Danish porcelain. On the underside appears the handwritten inscription "Gunhil Gunnersson 1972", which gives this particular example a personal extra dimension. For collectors and those who appreciate porcelain with history, such details are often an essential part of the figurine's appeal.

An older Royal Copenhagen figurine like this brings both cultural history and lasting quality into the home. It fits beautifully in a collection with other human figures, animal figures or Danish design porcelain, but can also stand alone in a bookcase, a display cabinet or on a shelf, where the simple white porcelain is allowed to stand out. Choosing vintage porcelain is at the same time a way to preserve fine craftsmanship and give classic design objects new life in a modern interior.
