Royal Copenhagen girl braiding her hair figurine no. 4424

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 4424 depicts a girl braiding her hair, captured in a calm and concentrated moment. The figurine has a slender, stylized expression, where the movement in the raised arms and the kneeling position bring life and presence to the motif. It is a porcelain figurine that balances beautifully between simplicity and character, and that looks beautiful in a collection of classic figurines from Royal Copenhagen.

Johannes Hedegaard has created a human figure with a slightly modern design language, where posture and lines are allowed to carry the expression. The bare upper body stands in fine contrast to the patterned lower part, which adds decorative rhythm and a distinctive visual interplay to the figurine. It is precisely this combination of soft forms and clear decoration that gives the figurine a strong identity and makes it interesting both for collectors of Royal Copenhagen and for those who appreciate Danish figurative art.

The porcelain figurine is executed in underglaze, which emphasizes the classic craftsmanship and the durable decoration. The motif of the girl arranging her hair gives the figurine an everyday yet timeless character. It fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of an arrangement with other porcelain figurines and sculptural objects. In a modern home, it can add warmth, personality, and a discreet story of classic Danish design.

Older figurines like this have a special charm because they carry both history and craftsmanship with them. Choosing vintage porcelain is also a beautiful way to give lasting quality objects new life. A figurine like this can bring joy for many years to come and is an obvious gift for collectors, for the design enthusiast, or for anyone who appreciates porcelain with soul.
