Royal Copenhagen The Emperor and the Nightingale figurine no. 4382 blue

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 4382 "The Emperor and the Nightingale" is a striking fairy tale figurine with a clear narrative and strong scenic presence. The motif draws its mood from H.C. Andersen's well-known fairy tale, and Johannes Hedegaard has given the figurine a theatrical and characterful expression, where the emperor's upright posture, the little bird by the hand and the raised fingers create a vivid story in porcelain.

The blue figurine appears in classic Royal Copenhagen colours with deep blue shades, white cape and fine decorations that emphasise the fairy-tale and imperial character. The small crown, the pointed shoes and the narrow face with moustache give the figurine personality, while the stylised cape and the elegant gesture make it ideal as both an art figurine, fairy tale figurine and collector's figurine.

As a porcelain figurine in underglaze, the model contains both the decorative and the craftsmanship that many associate with Royal Copenhagen. Johannes Hedegaard's design language is particularly well suited to figurines with a story, and here you get a figurine that appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain, to those who are fond of H.C. Andersen motifs, and to interior design with craftsmanship and history. It works beautifully alone in a display cabinet or on a shelf, but can also be combined with other porcelain figurines, fairy tale motifs or classic blue-and-white decoration in the home.

For those who appreciate older design and fine craftsmanship, this Royal Copenhagen figurine is also a fine example of how porcelain with history can still create atmosphere in a modern home. A figurine like this adds personality, culture and storytelling and is at the same time a sustainable choice when beautiful craftsmanship is allowed to live on through generations.
