Royal Copenhagen rooster figurine no. 1025 by Christian Thomsen

Royal Copenhagen rooster figurine no. 1025 by Christian Thomsen is a striking bird figurine in porcelain with distinct character and a strong silhouette. The rooster stands upright and alert with a high, curved tail, raised chest, and the head slightly turned, giving the figure a lively expression from several angles. It is a porcelain figurine that contains both calm and energy, and which immediately brings to mind a farmyard, country life, and a classic Danish animal motif.

The soft transitions in the underglaze emphasize the figure's modeled plumage. The body appears predominantly light, while the tail, wings, and lower parts have shades in grayish and darker tones. The comb and wattles stand out in warm brownish colors, and the small base with a greenish touch ties the motif together nicely. Precisely the contrast between the light body and the high, darker tail gives the rooster a beautiful presence in the room.

Christian Thomsen is known for animal figurines with a sure sense of form, and this is clearly seen here. The rooster's posture is natural, yet at the same time strict and decorative, so the figurine functions both as a collector's item and as a characterful detail in the interior. As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, it appeals to collectors of Danish porcelain, but also to those who are fond of bird figurines and classic animal motifs with history.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to add personality to the home. They are created to last a long time, and that is precisely why it makes sense to preserve and continue using them. A vintage Royal Copenhagen rooster is a sustainable choice, where fine craftsmanship and timeless design are given new life in a modern home.

The figurine can be placed alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a sideboard, where it is allowed to stand out as an eye-catcher. It can also be combined with other bird figurines, hens, or animal figurines in porcelain if you want a more cohesive expression with nature, country life, and Danish design tradition.
