Royal Copenhagen The Queen figurine no. 1494 from 1913 Professionally repaired

The Queen from Royal Copenhagen is a striking porcelain figurine with a narrative and theatrical expression. The figurine shows a queen seated in a high chair with a crown, light blue dress and patterned costume, while a white bird is placed on the back of the chair. The motif contains both calm, dignity and a touch of fairy tale, and this makes the figurine an eye-catching collector's item in classic Danish porcelain.

The figurine is designed by Christian Thomsen and executed in underglaze, which emphasizes the connection to Royal Copenhagen's tradition-rich porcelain craftsmanship. The painted decorations in blue, brown and light shades give the figurine depth and character, and the many details in both chair, costume and pose make it exciting to explore. The seated queen has a special scenic presence that fits well with both collections of porcelain figurines and a personal interior with art and design history.

Choosing an older porcelain figurine like this is also a way to preserve fine craftsmanship and pass on a piece of design history. Vintage figurines with soul and history add something different to the home than new production: personality, storytelling and the special joy of reusing quality objects that are created to last through generations.

This figurine is professionally repaired, and precisely for that reason it is an obvious opportunity for collectors and interior enthusiasts who want the strong expression and the artistic quality for which the model is known. It looks splendid on its own in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as part of a larger collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines from the same period.
