Royal Copenhagen goat figurine no. 466 - Christian Thomsen

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 466 depicts a resting goat with a calm and characterful expression. The figurine is modelled with a sense for the animal's natural posture, where the curved horns, the narrow face and the small beard give the motif life and personality. The soft transitions between white, grey and warm beige shades emphasise the figurine's calm appearance and make it an atmospheric feature in the interior.

Christian Thomsen is known for his animal figurines with presence and lifelike character, and this is clearly seen in this porcelain figurine. The goat's resting position gives the figurine a special balance between calm and attentiveness, and the fine underglaze highlights the details of the modelling in a discreet and classic way. It is a Royal Copenhagen figurine that appeals both to collectors of Danish porcelain and to those who are fond of animal figurines with history and soul.

A figurine like this fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a personal arrangement with other Danish design and porcelain. It can also be an obvious gift idea for collectors or for anyone who appreciates older quality objects, created to last and to bring joy for many years. It is precisely vintage porcelain figurines like this that add warmth, character and a sustainable alternative to new production to the home.
