Royal Copenhagen Welsh Corgi dog figurine no. 4593

Royal Copenhagen Welsh Corgi dog figurine no. 4593 is a porcelain figurine with plenty of personality and a motif that immediately evokes recognition in anyone who is fond of the distinctive dog breed. The long, low body, the short legs and the large, upright ears are shaped with a sure hand, and the figurine stands calmly and attentively with an alert gaze that gives it a lively expression.

The warm brownish shades combined with white areas on the chest, muzzle and paws emphasize the corgi's distinctive character and make the figurine decorative from all angles. The glossy glaze highlights the soft shapes and gives the surface depth, so that the light plays beautifully across the porcelain. It is a dog figurine that has both presence and a simplicity that suits classic Danish design.

Jeanne Grut is known for her animal figurines with a sense for both anatomy and temperament, and that is clearly felt here. This Welsh Corgi is not overinterpreted, but modelled with respect for the breed's natural proportions and calm strength. At the same time, the underglaze decoration adds a refined and durable expression, which many collectors associate with Royal Copenhagen porcelain.

As an older porcelain figurine, it also contains the special joy that lies in choosing something with history and lasting quality. A figurine like this fits well in a collection of dog figurines, animal figurines or Royal Copenhagen figurines, but it also works beautifully on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a desk. For corgi owners, dog lovers and collectors, it is an obvious gift idea or a personal addition to the home.

It is precisely the type of applied art and porcelain design that still has its place in modern interior design. When you choose a vintage dog figurine in porcelain, you get both good craftsmanship, a classic motif and a more sustainable alternative to new production.
