Royal Copenhagen Scottish Terrier figurine no. 4917 - Jeanne Grut

This Royal Copenhagen dog figurine depicts a Scottish terrier with the characteristic, compact expression and the long, wavy coat that makes the breed so easily recognizable. The figurine is modeled with great attention to the dog's distinctive head shape, upright ears, and the thick beard that gives the motif both personality and weight. The deep blue glaze emphasizes the structure of the coat and highlights the many fine lines in the modeling.

Jeanne Grut has created a dog figurine in which breed characteristics and lively expression go beautifully hand in hand. Royal Copenhagen is known for their assured craftsmanship and strong figurine tradition, and it is seen here precisely in the calm, natural posture and in the detailed surface, which gives the figurine character from every angle. It is a porcelain figurine that appeals both to collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and to dog lovers with a fondness for classic Danish design.

A Scottish terrier figurine like this fits beautifully on a shelf, on a desk, or as part of a personal collection of animal figurines in porcelain. It adds history, soul, and a touch of timeless design to the home. At the same time, older figurines like this are a beautiful example of how quality objects can be given new life in modern interiors and continue to create joy many years after they were made.

For collectors, figurine number 4917 is an important identification, and the fact that the model was discontinued before 1950 makes it especially interesting. It is therefore a figurine that not only has decorative value, but also collector's value for anyone seeking older Royal Copenhagen dog figurines with distinct character and history.
