Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 5655 girl in nightgown with teddy bear

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 5655 depicts a girl in a nightgown with her teddy bear held close to her body. The motif exudes calm, security, and an evening atmosphere, and the figurine captures a quiet moment from childhood with a fine sensitivity. The long white nightgown, the soft shapes, and the girl's slightly downcast gaze give the porcelain figurine a warm and intimate expression.

In the pictures, the girl is seen standing with the teddy bear in her arms, as if she is on her way to sleep or seeking the comfort that only a beloved stuffed animal can provide. The hair is gathered in braids, and the nightgown is decorated with small reddish dot decorations, which give the model life and character without taking attention away from the motif itself. It is precisely this balance between simplicity and storytelling that makes children's figurines from Royal Copenhagen so sought-after.

The figurine is made of porcelain and specified with underglaze, which supports the classic artisanal expression. As a children's figurine, it fits beautifully into a collection of porcelain figurines, but it can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or in a bedroom, where it adds a gentle and personal touch to the decor. The motif also makes it an obvious gift idea for someone who loves classic Danish porcelain, childhood motifs, and figurines with storytelling.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to bring history and soul into the home. Choosing a figurine with history is at the same time a beautiful way to preserve fine craftsmanship and let quality design live on through new generations. This Royal Copenhagen figurine unites collector's joy, nostalgia, and timeless design in one and the same motif.
