Bing & Grøndahl dog with teddy bear figurine no. 2109 in porcelain

This dog figurine from Bing & Grøndahl captures a vivid and playful moment: a dog bent forward over its teddy bear, completely absorbed in the play. The figurine has a fine sense of movement in the body, where the raised tail, the tense legs and the lowered head give the motif energy and presence. It is precisely this kind of detail that makes classic Bing & Grøndahl figurines sought after among both collectors and those who appreciate Danish porcelain with personality.

The porcelain figurine is executed in underglaze and appears with soft shades of grey, brownish tones and white, while the teddy bear forms a light contrast in front of the dog's snout. The surface has the characteristic sheen that suits the motif well and highlights the modelled structure of the fur. The combination of the lifelike expression and the narrative scene gives the figurine warmth and charm, without seeming overdone.

As a dog figurine in porcelain, model no. 2109 fits beautifully into a collection of Bing & Grøndahl animal figurines, but it also works strongly on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a personal gift for a dog lover. Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add history and soul to the home, and at the same time they are a beautiful choice for those who value fine craftsmanship and wish to give classic design new life.

The motif makes the figurine easy to place in both classic and more modern interiors. It can, for example, be combined with other animal figurines in porcelain, Nordic decorative arts or smaller collectibles, where it adds a more informal and narrative expression. If you are looking for a Bing & Grøndahl dog figurine with character, this model is an obvious choice.
