Bing & Grøndahl Aphrodite figure no. 2996 - Venus with the apple

Aphrodite, also known as Venus, is here depicted as a classic Bing & Grøndahl figure with a calm and harmonious expression. The figure stands nude in a slightly turned pose with an apple raised in her hand, while a falling drape rests over her arm. This gives the motif a beautiful balance between simplicity, movement and antique inspiration, which makes the figure a natural eye-catcher in the interior.

The white bisque highlights the fine details of the form and gives the sculpture a soft, almost marble-like expression. One especially notices the upright posture, the downcast gaze and the soft folds in the drape, which emphasize the figure's classical character. The motif "Venus with the apple" is associated with ancient mythology and has a timeless appeal for collectors of porcelain figures, classical art and sculptural decorations.

This Bing & Grøndahl figure is linked to Bertel Thorvaldsen, whose name continues to resonate with lovers of Danish art and Neoclassicism. As a figure in bisque, it has a particular materiality that fits beautifully into both modern and more traditional home decor. It can stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a side table, where it adds calm, history and artistic gravitas to the room.

For collectors of older porcelain figures, Aphrodite figure no. 2996 is a motif with both classical beauty and lasting decorative value. It is also a fine choice for those who wish to give older craftsmanship new life in the home and decorate with objects that are created to be appreciated through generations.
