This 1984 Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day Jubilee plate was issued to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the first Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day plate in 1969. The motif of this 1984 Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day Jubilee plate was the same as the motif of the 1976 Bing & Grondahl Mother's Day plate. The motif shows a swan with cygnets. This Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day plate was designed by Henry Thelander. The cygnets become white when they are two years old. Until then they are gray or greyish brown. In 1984 the Mute Swan was choosen to the Danish National Bird by a voting in the Danish television. The Bing & Grondahl Mothers Day Jubilee Plates were started in 1979 and are still being continued with a new Jubilee plate every fifth year.
