The elegant Christmas Mobiles decorate together with Georg Jensen Christmas balls, Christmas bells and ornaments and are classic collectibles. Many have a favorite that evokes special memories year after year. The Christmas Mobiles also fit beautifully together with Georg Jensen Christmas candle holders. - Because what is a Christmas tree without Christmas lights?
When was the first Georg Jensen Christmas Mobile released?
In 1984, Eigil Jensen created the first Christmas Mobile for Georg Jensen. This started an annual Christmas tradition for many, and every year a new Georg Jensen Christmas Mobile is still released for the holiday season. The artist behind the ornament varies from year to year, resulting in a variety of designs. The beautiful Mobiles tell a new story each year with enchanting Christmas motifs in gold and palladium-plated brass. You can give the Mobile a personal touch with traditional red, green, or blue ribbons.
Previously, the Mobile was not discontinued at the end of the year. Georg Jensen continued production so that people could constantly supplement their collection and purchase both old and new ornaments. Unfortunately, that option no longer exists, and now you can only purchase old ornaments as antiques. This has made the first editions particularly sought after, often resulting in higher prices.
Create new traditions with this year's Christmas ornament
For many people, it is a tradition to decorate with the entire series of Georg Jensen Christmas Mobiles. They are brought out every year at Christmas time and hung on a string in the window or another place in the living room.
Others give their grandchildren a Georg Jensen Mobile as a Christmas gift every year. Another good gift idea is to give just one Christmas Mobile from the year the child was born.
