Royal Copenhagen ducklings figurine no. 516 or 064 Erik Nielsen

Royal Copenhagen ducklings figurine no. 516 or 064 is a charming porcelain figurine with two small ducklings closely gathered in a calm, resting posture. The motif is simple and warm at the same time, and it is precisely the close placement between the two birds that gives the figurine a soft and lively expression, making it ideal for both collectors and those who are fond of classic animal figurines in Danish design.

The figurine is designed by Erik Nielsen, and this is clearly seen in the rounded modelling and the fine balance between naturalism and stylisation. The white ducklings are made with soft shapes, small dark eyes and beaks in light peach-coloured shades, which are also repeated at the feet. The smooth porcelain surface and the underglaze decoration emphasise the calm overall impression and give the figurine the familiar, solid expression that many associate with older Royal Copenhagen figurines.

As a bird figurine and porcelain figurine, it fits beautifully into a home with a sense of Nordic interior design, classic decorative arts and objects with history. It is decorative on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of Royal Copenhagen animal figurines. At the same time, it is a fine gift idea for a collector or for someone who appreciates porcelain where craftsmanship and motif come together in a higher unity.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add personality to the home. They are created to last a long time and can continue to bring joy for many years to come. Choosing a figurine with history is also a way to appreciate good craftsmanship and give classic design new life in a contemporary interior.
