Royal Copenhagen pig figurine no. 1400 or 101 Erik Nielsen

Royal Copenhagen pig figurine no. 1400/101 is a porcelain figurine with a calm and lifelike expression, which makes it easy to notice in the interior. The figurine is designed by Erik Nielsen and shows a seated pig in a simple, lively pose, where the body's soft lines and slightly forward-bent posture give the motif presence and character. It is precisely the type of classic animal figurine that many collectors and design enthusiasts seek when they look for older Royal Copenhagen figurines with a timeless design language.

The white glaze is kept clean and calm, while the snout and hooves have a subdued warm tone that highlights the figurine's details. The pictures also show discreet dark markings by the eyes and mouth, which give the pig personality without disturbing the simple overall impression. The underglaze technique supports the soft, durable expression and fits well with Royal Copenhagen's well-known tradition of porcelain figurines with a focus on both craftsmanship and naturalism.

As a decorative figurine, this pig fits nicely on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection of Danish animal figurines in porcelain. It can also stand alone as a small piece of Danish design history, where the motif adds warmth and a more personal touch to the home. For collectors, the figurine number is an important detail, and for gift buyers it is an obvious option if one wants a Royal Copenhagen figurine with a classic motif and a designer who is known for his animal figurines.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm because they combine good craftsmanship with a form that still works beautifully in modern homes. This makes the figurine interesting both as a collector's item and as decorative art with history.
