Royal Copenhagen swan figurine no. 359 Allan Therkelsen

Royal Copenhagen swan figurine no. 359 is a porcelain figurine with a calm, lifelike expression, making it an obvious choice for collectors of bird figurines and for those who appreciate classic Danish design. The resting swan is modelled with a long, curved neck, raised wings and a soft, gliding form, which gives the figurine a harmonious silhouette. The motif brings to mind quiet lakes, Nordic nature and the special tradition of animal figurines in porcelain.

Allan Therkelsen has created a swan figurine where the simple lines and the fine details interact beautifully. In the pictures, the light glaze can be seen in combination with modelled feathers on the wings and tail, which give the surface life and depth. The beak is executed in a warm tone with dark markings, and precisely that contrast emphasises the character of the figurine and makes the motif vivid without appearing restless. The overall effect is classic and balanced, exactly what many associate with Royal Copenhagen porcelain figurines.

As a bird figurine, this swan fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as a discreet detail in the living room, where it adds a touch of nature and Danish porcelain art to the home. It can stand alone as a calm eye-catcher, but can also be combined with other animal figurines from Royal Copenhagen to create a personal collection. The motif also makes it an obvious gift idea for a collector, a bird enthusiast or a recipient who appreciates porcelain with history, craftsmanship and lasting appeal.

This porcelain figurine is also decorated with underglaze, which supports the classic expression and the fine finish. It is a figurine that combines artistic sense of form with a motif that still feels present in modern interior design.
