Bing & Grøndahl standing kitten figurine no. 2516, 13 cm

This standing kitten from Bing & Grøndahl is a classic porcelain figurine with the calm, lifelike expression for which Danish animal figurines are known. The figurine shows a small kitten in an upright position, where it lifts one paw up toward its snout, as if it is in the middle of its daily grooming. This gives the figurine life and personality and makes it a charming feature for both cat lovers and collectors of Danish porcelain.

The grey-white colour scheme emphasizes the figurine's soft shapes and fine modelling. The surface is made in porcelain with underglaze, which gives it the smooth, glossy finish and the subdued shades that suit the motif so well. It is precisely the combination of the simple design language and the natural movement that makes this Bing & Grøndahl cat figurine easy to place in the home, whether it is to stand in a display cabinet, on a shelf, or as part of a larger collection of animal figurines.

For many, porcelain figurines from Bing & Grøndahl are also associated with the joy of preserving beautiful craftsmanship and giving quality design new life. A figurine like this adds warmth, history, and personality to the home and is at the same time a sustainable choice for those who appreciate things with soul. It is also well suited as a gift idea for a cat friend, a collector, or someone who is fond of Danish design tradition.

The current product name links the figurine to no. 2516, and it is therefore easy to identify for collectors who are looking for precisely this model. A decorative and characterful porcelain cat that combines collector's value with a motif one keeps looking at.
