Bing & Grøndahl cat figurine no. 2514 or 514 reclining grey cat

This cat figurine from Bing & Grøndahl combines calm, presence and classic Danish porcelain in an expression that still feels alive in the interior. The figurine depicts a reclining grey cat with its head slightly turned, pointed ears and the tail gently curved around the body. This gives the figurine an alert and at the same time relaxed expression, which many collectors and cat lovers will recognize immediately.

The smooth underglaze highlights the cat's shapes in a beautiful and subdued way. The grey shades blend softly into lighter areas on the chest, face and belly, while the darker areas on the back, legs and tail provide depth and character. The face is modelled with fine details, and the glossy glaze makes the light play beautifully across the porcelain. It is a porcelain figurine that works both as a decorative design object and as a classic collector's figurine.

Bing & Grøndahl cat figurines are sought after for their naturalistic formal language and their calm, timeless expression. This model is registered as figurine no. 2514, also referred to with old RC no. 514. It fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection with other animal figurines in porcelain. It is also an obvious gift idea for someone who loves cats, Danish design and porcelain with history.

Older porcelain figurines like this carry a special charm. They are created to last a long time and can still bring joy in a modern home, where they add personality, warmth and a touch of classic Scandinavian sense of form. Choosing original porcelain with history is at the same time a beautiful way to give quality design new life.
