Bing & Grøndahl Girl with cat figure no. 1779 or 424

This porcelain figurine of a girl with a cat captures a quiet and heartwarming moment. The girl stands with her gaze lowered toward the little cat, which she holds close to her in her apron, and the motif radiates the calm and closeness that characterize classic children's figures from Bing & Grøndahl. The soft shapes and the subdued color scheme with white, gray tones, and blue details give the figure a fine, harmonious expression that fits beautifully into both classic and modern homes.

The motif is modeled by Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger, who is known for her lively and sensitive depictions of children. Here her sure sense of body language and everyday scenes is seen in a figure where the girl's slightly forward-bent posture and the long braids emphasize the quiet connection between child and animal. This makes the figure ideal for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figures, children's figures, and porcelain figures with cats.

The figure is made of porcelain with underglaze, a technique that gives the fine colors depth and a beautiful, durable surface. It is precisely the combination of artistic modeling and classic porcelain craftsmanship that makes this model attractive to both collectors and those who want a decorative figure with history and personality. Older porcelain figures like this have a special charm because they carry tradition, quality, and storytelling forward into today's interior design. It is also a sustainable choice to give fine craftsmanship new life in the home.

Girl with cat is a figure that works well alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection with other children's figures from Bing & Grøndahl. It would also be an obvious gift idea for someone who loves cats, classic Danish porcelain, or figures with warmth and presence in the motif.
