Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 1567 or 402 Reading children

Reading children from Bing & Grøndahl is a porcelain figurine with a calm and warm motif, where a girl and a boy sit close together absorbed in a book. The figurine captures a quiet moment of closeness, curiosity and shared discovery - a motif that still speaks just as beautifully to a modern home as to collectors of classic Danish porcelain.

The soft modelling and the fine underglaze colors give the figurine a lively and harmonious expression. The girl is dressed in a blue dress and white bonnet, while the boy is seen in light trousers and a brownish vest. They sit shoulder to shoulder with the book unfolded in front of them, and the composition makes the figurine natural to view from several angles. It is precisely the type of children's figurine that Bing & Grøndahl is known and appreciated for: everyday motifs shaped with warmth, character and a great sense of storytelling.

The figurine is designed by Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger, who is known for her human figures with sensitivity and personality. Here, her style is united with the classic Bing & Grøndahl expression in a porcelain figurine that has both collector's value and decorative strength. It fits beautifully in a bookcase, on a chest of drawers or as part of a collection of children's figurines from B&G - Royal Copenhagen.

For many, older porcelain figurines are also a way to bring history and durability into the interior. A figurine like this is created to last, be cared for and be passed on with its own story. That makes it an obvious choice for those who love vintage porcelain, classic Danish design and objects with soul.

Reading children is at the same time an obvious gift idea for someone who loves books, childhood motifs or porcelain figurines with an intimate and human expression.
