Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2175 Underprivileged seated children

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2175 with the title Underprivileged depicts two seated children in a quiet and narrative moment. The figurine shows a boy in a blue outfit and a girl in a light dress, leaning closely against each other on a simple bench-shaped base. Both are holding a cup, and precisely that small situation between them gives the porcelain figurine life, presence, and a fine story about childhood, relationships, and small everyday moments.

The motif is typical of the classic Danish tradition of child figurines in porcelain, where body language and facial expressions carry the story. The girl leans in toward the boy, who looks down into his cup, and the interaction between the two makes the figurine both charming and interesting to explore. The soft shapes, the light skin tones, and the contrast between the deep blue color and the white areas give the figurine a calm and harmonious expression.

The figurine is designed by Claire Weiss for Bing & Grøndahl and made in porcelain with underglaze, which supports the smooth surface and the clear, durable colors. It is a type of porcelain figurine that appeals to collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, but also to those who are fond of classic child figurines with history and personality.

An older porcelain figurine like this brings both cultural history and warmth into the interior. It fits beautifully on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection with other B&G figurines. At the same time, it is an obvious gift idea for the collector or for someone who appreciates Danish porcelain design and quality objects that deserve to be preserved and passed on.

When you choose vintage porcelain with motif and soul, you also choose a more sustainable path to home décor. A figurine like this has already proven its durability and can continue to create joy for many years to come.
