Bing & Grøndahl boy with die figurine no. 2402 Claire Weiss

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2402 depicts a boy in a crouching position with a die in his hand and another die by his side. The motif has a calm and contemplative character, where the child's posture and slightly raised gaze give the figurine life and presence. The clear blue overalls pair beautifully with the light glaze and highlight the classic expression that many collectors and design enthusiasts associate with older Danish porcelain art.

The figurine is designed by Claire Weiss, who is known for her child figurines with a fine grasp of both movement and mood. Here, it is not grand effects that carry the expression, but the simple composition: the seated boy, the soft shapes, and the small die, which adds a playful and everyday narrative to the motif. It is precisely this kind of quiet observation that makes the porcelain figurine suitable both as a collector's item and as a decorative detail in the home.

As an underglaze porcelain figurine, the model has the smooth, deep surface and the classic play of colors that characterizes much of the best from Bing & Grøndahl. The figurine fits naturally among other child figurines, B&G figurines, and Danish design porcelain, but can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a chest of drawers, where it adds personality to the room. For many, vintage porcelain figurines are precisely a beautiful choice because they carry history, craftsmanship, and lasting quality forward into a modern home.

A figurine like this is also an obvious gift idea for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, for those who appreciate classic child figurines, or for you who would like to decorate with older decorative art and porcelain with soul. Choosing original figurines with history is at the same time a fine way to preserve good craftsmanship and give existing quality objects new life.
