Bing & Grøndahl Skipper boy with sailing ship figurine no. 2380

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2380 depicts a boy standing still and absorbed with a small sailing ship in his arms. The motif has a calm and thoughtful character, where the child's gaze and the simple posture give the figurine a fine maritime touch. The blue sweater, the light shorts and the subdued shades make the expression classic and easily recognizable in Danish porcelain design.

This porcelain figurine is known as Skipper, and it is precisely the combination of child and sailing ship that gives the figurine a special story about play, imagination and the fascination with the sea. It is therefore well suited to collectors of Child figurines from Bing & Grøndahl, but also to you who are fond of maritime figurines, boy figurines or porcelain with a nostalgic expression.

The figurine is designed by Claire Weiss and made in porcelain with underglaze. This is seen in the soft glaze effect and the calm transitions in the decoration, which suit the motif well. Claire Weiss is known for figurines with presence and humanity, and here this is expressed in the natural posture and the quiet concentration around the small sailing ship.

As a vintage porcelain figurine, this model also has the quality that makes older decorative art and collectors' items attractive in modern interiors. A figurine like this adds personality on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of child figurines from Bing & Grøndahl. At the same time, it is a sustainable pleasure to choose porcelain with history and give classic craftsmanship new life in the home.

Skipper figurine no. 2380 is also an obvious gift idea for collectors, for maritime décor or for the one who appreciates Danish porcelain with motifs of children and everyday stories.
