Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2344 boy with flute

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2344 depicts a seated boy playing the flute, and the motif has a calm, summery atmosphere. The figurine captures a quiet moment where the music almost seems to be felt in the pose alone. The boy sits with bent legs on an uneven base, which gives the impression of nature or rocky ground, while he concentratedly raises the flute to his mouth.

The expression is simple and lively at the same time. The light porcelain figurine is modeled with soft lines and fine details in both the face, hands, and posture. In the pictures he is seen wearing blue shorts, a light shirt, and sandals, and it is precisely the contrast between the calm white surfaces and the clear blue color that gives the figurine character. It is a child figurine with a music motif, which appeals both to collectors of Bing & Grøndahl and to you who are fond of classic porcelain figurines with a story.

The figurine is designed by Vita Birgitte Thymann and made in porcelain with underglaze, which emphasizes the craftsmanship quality for which Bing & Grøndahl is known. As a porcelain figurine, it combines a naturalistic motif with the special warmth and poetry that characterize many older Danish figurines. Here you get a piece of design with history and soul, which still fits beautifully into a modern home.

A figurine like this is ideal in a collection of B&G figurines, child figurines, or music figurines, but it also works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as a personal gift for someone who is fond of porcelain, music, or Danish design tradition. Choosing an older porcelain figurine is at the same time a beautiful way to give lasting craftsmanship new life and let quality from previous generations continue to create joy.
