Royal Copenhagen Boy with apple figurine no. 4680

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 4680 depicts a little boy sitting on the floor with an apple in his hand. The motif is calm and close to everyday life, and John Galster has captured a moment that exudes childlike reflection and presence. The boy's slightly open mouth, the relaxed sitting position and the small fruit raised toward the face give the figurine a lively and recognizable expression that makes it easy to cherish.

The porcelain figurine is executed in underglaze and appears with the soft, muted colors that suit the motif so well. The dark jacket, the light blue trousers, white socks and brown shoes create a fine overall impression, while the face and hands are modeled with great sensitivity. This very type of child figurine is something many collectors and interior enthusiasts seek, because it combines classic Danish porcelain with a motif that still speaks to modern homes.

John Galster is known for his human figures with character and warmth, and here his design language clearly comes into its own. The figurine fits beautifully in a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines, but can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a small table, where it adds personality and history. A porcelain figurine like this is also an obvious choice as a gift for the collector or for someone who appreciates Danish design and older decorative art with soul.

When choosing a vintage porcelain figurine, you are at the same time choosing a piece of craftsmanship that has already proven its durability through time. It is a beautiful way to carry classic design forward and let it gain new life in today's interior design. At DPH - Danish Porcelain House, we especially value figurines that can create joy across generations.
