Bing & Grøndahl Dickie boy figure squatting no. 1636 or 412

Dickie is a classic boy figure from Bing & Grøndahl, modelled in a lively moment where the boy is squatting with his body bent forward and his arms stretched down towards the floor. The figure has a natural movement and a fine everyday character, which makes it both present and full of character. The blue blouse, the light trousers and the light shoes give the figure a calm and harmonious expression, which fits beautifully into a collection of Danish porcelain and child figures.

It is precisely the simple, observed everyday scene that makes this porcelain figure so appealing. The motif captures the child's concentration and body language in a way for which Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger is known and appreciated among collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figures. The low posture and the forward-leaning stance bring the figure to life from every angle, so it works beautifully both in the display cabinet, on a shelf, or as part of a larger arrangement with other child figures.

The porcelain figure is made in underglaze, a technique that gives the smooth surface and the clear, durable colours a beautiful and classic expression. As an older figure, it also carries the special quality associated with Danish porcelain created to last for generations. That is precisely why vintage porcelain figures like this are an obvious choice for those who appreciate fine craftsmanship, the joy of collecting, and the pleasure of giving timeless design new life in the home.

Dickie is also a lovely gift idea for the collector of Bing & Grøndahl porcelain, for the one who is fond of child figures, or for you, who want a figure with warmth, history and personality. It works beautifully on its own, but can also be combined with other figures of children to create a lively and atmospheric story in the interior.
