Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2275 Help me, mother seated boy with shoe

This porcelain figurine from Bing & Grøndahl captures a recognizable and warm moment from childhood. The motif shows a seated boy, absorbed in getting his shoe on, while he looks up with an expression that has given the figurine the title "Help me, mother". It is a child figurine with presence and movement, where the little everyday scene has been transformed into a poetic design with lots of personality.

The boy sits on a low stone-shaped base and is modeled in a natural posture, where the hands work with the shoe, while one bare foot is visible. The light brown trousers with suspenders, the white shirt and the wavy hair in soft shades give the figurine a calm and harmonious expression. Precisely the combination of the child's concentration, the slightly upward gaze and the fine narrative makes this Bing & Grøndahl figurine particularly charming in a collection of Danish porcelain figurines.

The figurine is designed by Michaela Ahlmann and made in porcelain with underglaze, which supports the soft transitions and the calm color scheme. Bing & Grøndahl is known for its figurine models with human warmth, and figurine no. 2275 is a good example of that tradition. It fits beautifully among other child figurines, classic porcelain figurines and Danish design with history.

An older porcelain figurine like this brings both story and soul into the decor. It can be placed in a display cabinet, on a shelf or a small side table, where it adds a personal touch to the home. At the same time, it is a sustainable choice for those who appreciate good craftsmanship and wish to give quality design new life instead of choosing new production. It is also an obvious gift idea for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, child figurines and classic Danish porcelain.
