The Mother's Day Plate was manufactured by The Porcelain Factory Désirée Denmark, also known as Désirée Denmark or Svend Jensen of Denmark, Old Copenhagen Blue. The motif of the 1981 Sven Jensen Mother's Day plate was designed by Mads Stage. It is a harmonious picture of a deep concentrated boy who is spreading cereals while the chicken are walking closely around him to eat it. The plate was painted in blue underglaze. Désirée Denmark started the series of Mothers Day plates in 1970 and ended it in 1994.
