Royal Copenhagen Blue Fish curved figure no. 312, 116 cm

Royal Copenhagen Blue Fish curved figure no. 312 is a striking fish figure in faience that combines Danish craftsmanship with an almost sculptural expression. The long, curved body and the deep blue shades give the figure a strong presence, and the clearly modelled scales, fins and open mouth add life and movement to the motif. It is a Royal Copenhagen fish that immediately attracts the eye and functions as a characterful feature in the interior.

The model was created by the artist Jeanne Vivian Grut, who is known for her vivid depictions of animals. Blue Fish was first realised in 1963 as a sculpture in faience consisting of four separate parts. This very construction gives the figure a distinctive expression, where the form appears both powerful and detailed. The blue glaze beautifully emphasises the structure of the fish and highlights the many fine transitions in the surface.

This type of Royal Copenhagen figure appeals both to collectors of Danish design and to those who want a decorative object with history and personality. It works well as an eye-catcher in a room, where it can stand alone or be included together with other ceramic figures and maritime-inspired objects. Older designs like this have a special charm because they carry original craftsmanship and lasting quality forward into today's homes.

The curved version differs clearly from the straight model and is therefore an obvious choice for collectors seeking figure no. 312 specifically. For the angler, the design enthusiast or the collector of Royal Copenhagen faience, it is a figure with both decorative strength and historical interest.
