Royal Copenhagen penguin with chick figurine 088 Allan Therkelsen 23 cm

Royal Copenhagen figurine 088 shows a penguin with chick in a close and calm composition, where the adult bird bends its head down toward the small chick. The motif has a quiet presence, which makes the figurine both decorative and narrative. The tall bird figurine is modelled with an upright, protective posture, while the chick stands close to the adult and emphasizes the series' warm mother and child theme.

Allan Therkelsen has created a porcelain figurine with a lifelike expression and a fine balance between simplicity and detail. The adult penguin appears with a dark back, white front and golden markings at the neck, while the chick is rendered in light grey and white shades. The modelled feather structures and the glossy underglaze give the surface life and depth, so the light plays beautifully across the figurine from all angles.

As a bird figurine and animal figurine, it fits well into a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines, but it also stands strongly on its own in a display cabinet, on a shelf or on a desk. The height of 23 cm gives the figurine a fine presence, and the motif makes it ideal as a gift for a collector or for you who are fond of porcelain figurines with nature motifs and classic Danish design language.

This Royal Copenhagen penguin with chick belongs to the Mother and Child series, which is known precisely for motifs with closeness and relationship. If one chooses a figurine like this, one gets not only a beautiful piece of porcelain, but also a design object with history and personality, which can continue to create joy in a modern home.
