Royal Copenhagen polar bear cubs figurine no. 324 Allan Therkelsen

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 324 depicts playful polar bear cubs in a warm and vivid moment, where movement, closeness and curiosity are captured in porcelain. The motif has a natural interaction, where one cub lies on its back with its paws in the air, while the other leans over it. This gives the figurine an expression that is both calm, lively and full of personality.

Allan Therkelsen has created an animal figurine where the soft shapes and the fine modelling highlight the polar bears' fur, body and movements. The white glaze is emphasized by the dark details on the snout, eyes and paws, which provide contrast and make the figurine stand out clearly. The underglaze technique contributes to the classic Royal Copenhagen expression and gives the surface a beautiful depth.

The figurine belongs to the series of Mother and Child animal figurines and is an obvious choice for collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines, bear figurines and Danish porcelain. It fits beautifully in a collection with other animal figurines, but also has enough presence to stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a decorative feature in the living room. The motif of the playful polar bear cubs gives the home a calm, Nordic touch and is at the same time a gift idea for someone who appreciates animals, design and porcelain with character.

Older porcelain figurines like this one hold a special charm, because they are created with care and craftsmanship quality. It is precisely the type of object that can find new life in a modern home and bring both history and personality into the interior. For many, it is also a pleasure to choose original design with soul rather than new production.
