Royal Copenhagen Girl with foal figurine no. 448 Allan Therkelsen

Royal Copenhagen Girl with foal figurine no. 448 is an atmospheric porcelain figurine that captures a calm moment between child and animal. The motif shows a girl in a blue dress sitting close to a reclining foal, which she holds caring around. The close contact between the two gives the figurine a warm and lively expression, which speaks directly to both collectors and anyone who delights in horses, farm motifs and classic Danish figurative art.

The figurine was created by Allan Therkelsen for Royal Copenhagen's figurine series Children with farm animals from 2006. Here the story is drawn from life in the countryside, where children and animals move side by side, and where closeness, trust and everyday joy are a natural part of the motif. The light blue dress, the light hair and the foal's warm brown colour create a harmonious whole, while the seated posture and the foal's relaxed position give the figurine a calmness that makes it particularly pleasant to look at from several angles.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, it has the well-known sense of modelling and fine transitions in form and glaze. Face, hands, hair and the folds in the dress are executed with a softness that emphasises the motif's human warmth. At the same time, the combination of child and foal makes it ideal for collectors of child figurines, horse figurines and agricultural figurines, but also as a decorative porcelain figurine in the home, where it can add personality and a quiet story to a shelf, display cabinet or desk.

Older figurines like this have a special charm because they carry craftsmanship, design history and thematic soul forward with them. It is precisely the type of quality object that can still create joy in a modern home and at the same time is a beautiful choice for you who appreciate lasting things over new production. The figurine is also an obvious gift idea for the horse lover, the collector or the one who is fond of Royal Copenhagen and classic motifs from farm life and childhood.
