Royal Copenhagen reclining foal no. 21516 stoneware figurine Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen reclining foal no. 21516 is a stoneware figurine with the calm, present expression that makes Knud Kyhn's animal figures so sought-after. The foal is modelled in a relaxed, reclining position with its head slightly turned, upright ears and legs gathered close to the body. This gives the figurine a fine balance between calm and attentiveness, which suits both classic and modern interiors.

The glaze plays beautifully across the surface in light and dark brownish shades with a lively, almost drawn pattern that highlights the figurine's shapes. Mane, muzzle, legs and tail stand out clearly, and from all angles the soft modelling and Kyhn's sure sense of animals' anatomy and character are experienced. It is precisely this combination of naturalism and artistic simplification that has made his figures a fixed part of Danish design history.

As a stoneware figurine from Royal Copenhagen, this model has both weight, warmth and an expression that fits naturally into the home. It works beautifully on a shelf, a side table or in a still life together with ceramics, books and other decorative objects. The motif of the resting foal adds a calm atmosphere to the room and makes the figurine an obvious gift for collectors, horse enthusiasts or for you who appreciate Danish ceramic craftsmanship.

Older figurines like this have a special ability to create personality in the interior. They are made to last for many years and are a beautiful choice for you who would like to decorate with quality, history and reuse rather than new production. Here you get a Royal Copenhagen figurine with both soul, sense of form and lasting decorative value.
