Royal Copenhagen Black Wave and Beach figure no. 088

Royal Copenhagen figure no. 088, "Sort Bølge og Strand", depicts a man and a woman by the sea in a dramatic and sensual composition. The figure is built up with strong, dynamic lines, where the bodies intertwine and create a story of closeness, strength, and the movement of nature. The dark glaze emphasizes the figure's sculptural expression and gives the motif a striking depth, making it an eye-catching art object in the interior.

The motif "man and woman by the sea" connects the human being with the wave, the wind, and the raw atmosphere of the beach. It is a porcelain figure that contains both romance and drama, and therefore appeals to collectors of Royal Copenhagen figures as well as to you who want a figure with character and artistic weight. The black version gives the motif a modern and more graphic touch, which fits beautifully into both classic and contemporary homes.

The figure is designed by Theodor Lundberg and executed in porcelain with underglaze, which helps to highlight the flowing surfaces and the lively forms. The composition has an almost monumental expression, even in a smaller format, and it works beautifully as a solitary piece on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection of Royal Copenhagen art figures. If you appreciate figure art with movement, human relationships, and a distinct formal language, this model is a strong choice.

Older and classic porcelain figures like this one have a special ability to add personality and history to the home. Choosing a figure with artistic heritage is also a way to give lasting craftsmanship new life. "Sort Bølge og Strand" is therefore both a collector's item and a figure that still feels relevant in a modern home interior.
