Royal Copenhagen The Kiss figurine no. 2046 man and woman

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 2046 with the title The Kiss captures a moment of closeness and lightness between a man and a woman. The figurine shows a couple in historical costume, precisely in the quiet second where they lean toward each other and meet in a kiss. The motif has a romantic narrative, but also a delicate movement that makes the figurine lively from all angles.

Christian Thomsen has created a porcelain figurine with great sensitivity for both the figures' posture and the fall of the clothing. The man is dressed in light trousers, white stockings and a light blue jacket, while the woman wears a dress in subdued greyish and light blue shades with small discreet decorations. The flowing dress, the slightly bent bodies and the placement of the hands give the figurine a natural rhythm, which makes it decorative both in a display cabinet, on a chest of drawers or as part of a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines.

As a porcelain figurine, The Kiss unites the romantic motif with the classic Danish figurine craftsmanship for which Royal Copenhagen is known. The underglaze gives the surface a soft depth and emphasizes the delicate colors and the fine details in costumes, faces and base. It is a figurine that speaks to collectors of porcelain figurines, but also to you who are looking for a personal gift with love, history and character.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add soul to the home. They are created to be preserved, appreciated and passed on, and precisely for that reason vintage and classic porcelain are a beautiful choice for the one who wants quality with lasting value. The Kiss is at the same time an obvious choice for a romantic interior or as a gift idea for a couple, an anniversary or a special occasion.
