Bing & Grøndahl butterfly figurine no. 1768 porcelain 5 cm

Bing & Grøndahl butterfly figurine no. 1768 is a small porcelain figurine with a calm and poetic expression. The motif shows a butterfly resting on a leaf-shaped base, and the simple composition gives the figurine a lightness that fits beautifully into both classic and more modern homes. For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, it is a decorative model that combines a nature motif and Danish porcelain tradition in a format that is easy to place.

The figurine is made of porcelain with underglaze and appears in light white shades with discreet greyish and brownish details on the body, legs and markings around the wings. The wings stand together upwards, which gives the model a lively, almost snapshot-like expression, as if the butterfly has just landed. The soft shape of the leaf emphasizes the organic motif and at the same time gives the figurine a fine balance.

This porcelain butterfly is well suited as a small collector's figurine, as part of an arrangement with other animal figurines or as a single eye-catcher on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a desk. The modest size also makes it ideal as a gift for someone who likes Bing & Grøndahl porcelain, butterflies or small figurines with nature inspiration.

Precisely this kind of smaller porcelain figurines has a special ability to add personality to the interior without taking up too much space. Here you get a model where motif and material work nicely together, and where the simple colour expression makes it easy to combine with other porcelain, glass and decorative art.
