Bing & Grøndahl mouse figurine 1801 by Dahl-Jensen

This Bing & Grøndahl mouse figurine no. 1801 is a small piece of Danish porcelain art with great presence. The motif shows a grey mouse gathered in a round, almost protective movement, with the tail curling softly around the body. The large ears, the pointed snout, and the calm, inward-looking posture give the figurine a lively and poetic expression, making it much more than an ordinary animal figurine.

Jens Peter Dahl Jensen had a special eye for animals' movements and character, and that is clearly felt here. The figurine is simple in form, but full of presence. The grey glaze emphasizes the mouse's soft lines and highlights the fine interplay between light, shadow, and the glossy surface of the porcelain. It is precisely the type of porcelain figurine for which Bing & Grøndahl is known and appreciated among collectors of classic Danish design.

As a mouse figurine, it fits nicely into a collection of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, but it can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or on a small table, where it adds personality and a discreet historical touch. Older porcelain figurines like this bring both craftsmanship and storytelling into the home, and they are a beautiful choice for those who appreciate design with history and would like to give well-made applied art and collectibles new life.

This porcelain figurine is also an obvious gift idea for collectors, for those who are fond of animals in art, or for those who want a small, characterful figurine with classic Danish origins. A mouse like this has a quiet, almost thoughtful expression that makes it easy to love and easy to find a place for in the interior.
