Bing & Grøndahl elephant figurine no. 1806 with raised trunk

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 1806 depicts an elephant in motion with a raised trunk and slightly open mouth, modelled with a lively and natural posture. The glossy porcelain surface and the soft grey-toned underglaze give the figurine a calm, classic expression, while the white tusks and the curved trunk add character and energy to the motif. It is a porcelain figurine that appeals both to collectors of Bing & Grøndahl and to those who are fond of animal figurines with presence and sculptural strength.

The elephant is executed with fine details that make it interesting to explore. Ears, leg position, tail and the powerful body are balanced so that the figurine appears harmonious from several angles. The grey glaze works beautifully across the body and emphasises the model's soft transitions, which particularly suits the motif well. Precisely the combination of naturalism and simplicity is something many associate with classic Danish porcelain figurines from Bing & Grøndahl.

As an elephant figurine, it fits beautifully on a shelf, on a chest of drawers or in a display cabinet, where it can stand alone or together with other animal figurines in porcelain. It is also ideal as a gift for a collector or for someone who has a fondness for elephants and Nordic design tradition. Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm because they bring history, craftsmanship and personality into the home and at the same time are a beautiful choice for those who appreciate quality items that can be given new life through generations.

The figurine is known as elephant with raised trunk and has item number 1806, which makes it easy to identify for both collectors and buyers seeking a specific Bing & Grøndahl model. A classic B&G elephant figurine like this combines decorative value with collector interest and is a fine example of why porcelain figurines continue to have their place in modern interior design.
